The pixie is (as we noted previously) June 2007's item of the month -- a fairy that also attacks and drops consumable items (tiny bottles of absinthe) that unlock three new zones full of goodies.
The absinthe allows you to adventure in the "Worm Wood" zone, which apart from being made of rainbow-flavored win for English majors (Coleridge, Poe, and La Mure, oh my!), is the home of one of the most important items in the game for hardcore ascenders.
Basically, you should buy this if you don't have one already. It's awesome all around.
